MHLabs Announces ChannelStrip for Pro

July 26, 1999 Metric Halo Laboratories, Inc. announced ChannelStrip the new
comprehensive audio processing plug-in for Pro Tools and other Digidesign®
TDM-based digital audio workstations. ChannelStrip is literally the channel-strip
audio-processing section of a digital console with a TDM plug-in interface.
It offers exceptional audio quality, incredible DSP efficiency and a comprehensive
user interface that finally allows Pro Tools users to work with Pro Tools
as efficiently and interactively as they would with a dedicated mixing
console. ChannelStrip should ship on August 9, 1999.
Priced at US$999, ChannelStrip provides all standard audio processing
facilities in one complete plug-in. Each instance provides:
- Input gain/trim
- Polarity Invert
- Expander/gate with integrated parametric side-chain filter
- Compressor with integrated parametric side-chain filter
- 6 band fully parametric 48-bit EQ with +/-24dB boost/cut per band
- 6 selectable filter band types: Peaking/Parametric High Shelf with
adjustable dip Low Shelf with adjustable dip Bandpass High Cut Low Cut
- User adjustable 255 sample delay
- Output gain/trim.
The compressor section is dynamically switchable between pre- and post-EQ.
All internal routing can be done with the transport engaged. Each processing
section is fully metered. The output section incorporates SpectraFoo-style
Peak, RMS, and VU meters.
ChannelStrip currently supports PT|MIX and MIX farm cards. It can process
6 channels per MIX DSP chip as 6 mono channels or 3 stereo pairs, in any
combination. All MIX DSP chip types are supported. This means you can
do a 24-channel mix on a MIX core system with gate, dynamics, Visit Metric Halo
