| The Jazz-7 in Transparent Cherry |
July 23, 1999Schecter Guitar Research has added their new Jazz-7(TM)
to their Diamond Series and is displaying it at Summer NAMM in Nashville
(Booth 1238)
This new 7-string guitar is as different visually as it is sonically
from their popular A-7 and C-7 7-strings. Features include a large semi-hollow
maple body, a set-in 22-fret maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with vintage
mother of pearl "block" inlays and crème binding.
The Jazz-7 also utilizes a custom tune-o-matic bridge and a stop tailpiece.
This bridge system combined with the guitar's solid "center-block"
add to the instrument's tonal character.
Adding to this 7-string's sound are two Duncan Design Vintage Output
7-string "tapped" humbuckers. Tapping the pickup (via the push-pull
tone pot) essentially "splits" the pickup, giving two distinct
sounds: one "round and full bodied" and the other "brighter
and articulate." Bound 'F' holes, Grover tuners and chrome hardware
add to the Jazz-7's visual and sonic appeal.
Available finishes are Gloss Black, Transparent Cherry, Vintage Sunburst,
and Vintage Gloss Natural. The Jazz-7 will retail at $899.00 For more information,
