BitHeadz Announces Unity DS-1 2.0 for Mac and Windows March 10, 2000 BitHeadz Inc.has announced Unity DS-1 2.0
Digital Sampler for Mac and Windows 95/98. The highly acclaimed Unity
DS-1 software sampler, used by professional musicians world wide on stage
and in the studio, now has long list of exciting new features, including
a new UI, better support for 3rd party developers, and powerful new loop
processing functions.
The 2.0 version of the Unity DS-1 Digital Sampler is packed with powerful
new features- including the ability speed up or slow down sampled loops
in real-time, without altering the pitch of the original loop! You can
also modify the tempo and re-render your loops using an adjustable
threshold for automated beat detection, or position your own beat
markers. New FreeMIDI, OMS, and Pro Tools patch names support are also
included to automate the process of updating patch names to make using
Unity with your sequencer easier than ever!
"We are really excited that Unity can now provide up to 128 stereo voices
(512 oscillators) of sampling for any one with a fast computer," says
President, Steve O'Connell. " Our optimization for Apple's G4 Velocity
Engine and the availability of faster computers in general, has made the
'virtual studio' a reality. No more patch cords, MIDI cables and noisy
power supplies means a better sounding finished project. Being able to
carry your studio and sampler in your laptop has obvious advantages as
well."
The ability to selectively load individual programs instead of an entire
bank, and a new library management system are also new to 2.0, as well as
3 new filter types, a pitch shifting insert effect, and a multi-tap
chorus. The factory sound set has also been refined with many new
impressive sounds including a larger GM bank, a great acoustic piano, and
more orchestral samples. You can also now re-direct audio outputs using a
new matrix for Direct I/O and ASIO, and a controller mapper allows you to
assign any 8 controllers to any 8 Unity parameters. Control strip access
to global effects, record to disk, voices/CPU %, and many other features
are also included for Macintosh users.
There is now DirectConnect^Á support for use with Pro Tools Mix and Mix
Plus systems which routes up to 34 streams of digital audio into the TDM
bus. DirectConnect^Á support for Digidesign's Pro Tools LE software should
be available in April 2000.
Unity 2.0 will be available in Q1, 2000 for $449.00 retail, $149.00
upgrade for registered Unity DS-1 owners. For more information, visit BitHeadz on the web at www.bitheadz.com. |
