Crown announces the launch of its new Macro-Tech 02
Series, an enhanced line of Macro-Tech amplifiers offering PIP2™;
(Programmable Input Processor) compatibility.
The 02 models-made up of the MA-602, MA-1202, MA-2402 and MA-5002-offer
the existing features and performance of Crown's award-winning Macro-Tech
amplifiers while delivering key added benefits that further expand their
versatility. These include:
An enhanced PIP2 connector accepts new accessory modules that tailor
the amplifier for specific applications. Balanced XLR and 1/4-inch phone
jack inputs for each channel are offered on the 02's PIP-FXQ module, which
is included as standard. 'Quad-Mute', Crown's latest protection scheme,
provides full protection from shorted, open and mismatched loads, general
overheating, DC, high-frequency overloads and internal faults.
"The Macro-Tech 02 Series represents the marriage of two of our
finest technologies," says Stephen Morris, amplifier product line
manager for Crown Audio. "We've taken our Macro-Tech amplifiers,
well known around the world for their outstanding reliability and performance,
and made them fully compatible with all of our PIP2 modules, including
the new IQ-PIP-USP2 which offers full 24-bit digital signal processing
and real-time load supervision."
Macro-Tech 02s offer the same features that made the original line a
success. Patented ODEP® (Output Device Emulation Protection) circuitry
compensates for overheating and overload. IOC® (Input/Output Comparator)
circuitry immediately alerts of any distortion exceeding 0.05%, providing
dynamic proof of distortion-free performance. And Crown's Grounded Bridge™;
design delivers large voltage swings without using easily stressed output-transistor
configurations like conventional amplifiers.
Power ratings on the 02s are identical to their respective standard Macro-Tech
