ToneWorks Releases Pandora PX3B for Bass

ToneWorks releases the latest Pandora personal multi-effects
processor, the PX3B, designed especially for bass guitar. This newest
addition to the line of pocket-sized Pandoras, provides bass players with
an array of features including digital multi-effects, built-in rhythm
patterns, an on-board auto tuner, a newly developed bass canceller, a
phrase trainer and many other innovative functions that are ideal for
recording and practice.
The ToneWorks Pandora PX3B offers 39 effects along with 50 preset and 50 user-definable
programs. Up to seven effects such as compression, octave distortion, and overdrive,
along with several types of chorus, flanger, auto wah, and pitch shifting, can
be combined at once, meeting the tonal needs of every musical genre. The unit
also features several quality reverbs and delay times of up to 2000ms. These features,
along with Korg's proprietary Resonant Electronic Modeling System (REMS) technology
which can simulate six famous bass amp sounds, makes this an ideal tool for bassists
to use as a preamp for direct recording, running into an amp, or providing studio-quality
sound when using headphones. The PX3B's Hyper Bass Boost function and four-band
EQ (which allows direct editing of each band) guarantee powerful sound at any
volume.
Other features include an auto tuner with effect bypass and optional output
muting for on-stage use, and a metronome, plus 50 types of rhythm patterns using
real PCM sounds, and adjustable tempo and volume controls. Furthermore, using
the AUX input with the newly-developed bass canceller feature allows users to
play along with a CD or other outside audio source. A key transpose function of
up to one octave up or down makes playing along with an outside source more convenient.
The PX3B's Phrase Trainer also allows the user to record up to sixteen seconds
of audio from an instrument or other outside source, slow it down by up to 75%
without changing pitch, and loop it for repeated playback.
The PX3B combines all of the these functions into an ultra-compact unit (4.6
x 0.9 x 2.8 inches) with a backlit LCD display to ensure excellent visibility
in dark locations. Functions are presented as icons for easy recognition, and
a value dial provides easy program selection and setting of parameters. The unit
can be powered by either four AAA batteries for up to 9 hours of continual use,
or with the optional 9-V adapter.
The ToneWorks Pandora PX3B is available February, 2000 with a suggested retail
price of $250.00.
