Minnetonka Offers Free DTS® Surround
Sound Encoding
February 14, 2000
Minnetonka Audio Software is offering free encoding
of Surround Sound recordings.
Between February 15 and June 1, musicians and recording engineers can
send a 5.1 (6-track) Surround master of 5 minutes or less to Minnetonka,
and Minnetonka will encode the recording to DTS and burn it onto a CD.
DTS is the ideal choice for distribution of Surround music recordings.
A DTS-encoded CD can play Surround Sound on any of the millions of home
theaters systems that have a DTS decoder, as well as a growing number
of car sound systems. Minnetonka currently sells the only native-mode
software encoder for DTS, named SurCode. It is easy to use, and
will take any 6 .wav or .aiff files from a Surround master, and encode
them for CD. SurCode can also be used through the built-in interface in
Minnetonkas Mx51 Surround Sound mixing software.
For further details on how to submit Surround recordings for encoding,
please check Minnetonkas web site at www.minnetonkaaudio.com.
