Shure Announces the Launch of On Tour With Shure Magazine

February 4, 2000

Shure Incorporated announced the launch of On Tour With Shure (OTWS), a magazine focused upon entertaining, informing and creating an exchange with the artist community. On Tour With Shure's premier issue contains original material about touring life from today's hottest artists, exclusive photos, articles from top sound engineers, information about new products, news about Shure's roster of artist endorsers and more.

Featured in the premier issue is an exclusive interview with Shure endorsing artist and legend, Roger Daltrey of The Who. Daltrey reveals the truth about Woodstock, why the band got booted from Holiday Inns and his live quality "test" of the SM58™ in front of a stunned Shure crowd. In addition to this enlightening interview, OTWS speaks to Melissa Etheridge's sound team, Filter frontman Richard Patrick and Ziggy Marley about their latest albums and tours.

For those interested in the latest gear out of the box, OTWS offers insight into the newly updated Shure T Series wireless systems and the Beta 87C, a new microphone optimized for use with personal monitors. In a related product category feature, OTWS puts the spotlight on personal ("in-ear") monitor systems to learn why so many artists are being converted to this new way of monitoring.

Engineers Timothy Powell and Bill Sheppell also lend their expertise in live sound to the first issue. Powell tells about his extraordinary experience of recording The Who live on location at the House of Blues in Chicago, while Sheppell shares his front-of-house tips of how to mic the raucous sounds of bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit. In addition, John Cooper, live sound engineer for The Judds, and Cheap Trick's guitar tech, Richard "Sven" Granert, reveal their ingenius solutions to unique equipment problems on tour.

On Tour With Shure is published tri-annually and will be made available at no cost to music equipment stores across the U.S. Consumers will be able to obtain a free subscription via www.shure.com/otws or by sending a request to On Tour With Shure, 222 Hartrey Ave., Evanston, IL 60202. And be sure to tell them Harmony Central sent you.
