Shure ReLaunches T-Series Wireless
February 4, 2000
Shure Incorporated, the leading manufacturer
of microphones and audio electronics, today announced the re-launch of
its VHF wireless T Series microphones. The new T Series systems combine
receiver upgrades including a sleek new design along and an upgraded accessories
package to bring added performance and value to budget-conscious wireless
users.
The
most significant update to this best-selling product line is the re-designed receiver,
which now includes Shures proprietary microprocessor-controlled Predictive
Diversity technology. The new diversity system is able to anticipate dropouts
before they occur in order to sustain consistent reception, even in difficult
RF environments. As a complement to each new T Series offering, Shure also provides
a durable carrying case and break-resistant swivel adapter. New versions of this
popular series are initially available in the United States and in countries with
compatible wireless regulations.
Four application-specific systems comprise the T Series. The Vocal Artist
is offered with the choice of either Shure's industry standard SM58® or the
high-output BG3.1 with neodymium capsule. Both microphone transmitters are equipped
with an internal shock mount to greatly reduce handling and stand vibration noise.
The Guitarist comes equipped with body pack circuitry expressly calibrated
for guitar and two 1/4-inch cables. For hands-free applications, the T Series
includes The Presenter and The Headset. Ideally suited for houses
of worship, the theatre, and corporate environments large and small, The Presenter
offers a choice of omnidirectional, cardioid, or supercardioid lavalier microphones.
For DJs, aerobics instructors, or anyone else in need of a head-worn system, The
Headset includes the Shure WH20 microphone, featuring a fully-adjustable, lightweight
frame and gooseneck that allow for perfect mic placement and exceptional sound.
Additionally, to meet user needs demanding customization and to serve those
customers who already own their own lavalier microphone, Shure also offers The
Body-Pack, a system consisting solely of a receiver and body-pack transmitter,
customizable with a wide range of Shure microphones.
Each member of the affordable T Series product family is available in either
a non-diversity (single antenna) configuration or with Shures new dual antenna
Predictive Diversity circuitry.
Suggested retail prices for The Vocal Artist range from $380 (BG3.1, non-diversity)
to $560 (SM58, diversity); The Guitarist lists for only $260 non-diversity, $370
for diversity. The Presenter and The Headset systems share pricing at $360 for
non-diversity systems, $480 for diversity. The Body-Pack lists for $320 (non-diversity)
and $440 (diversity).
Note: The initial roll-out of the new T Series Wireless is only available
in the United States and other countries with compatible wireless regulation.
T Series variations for other countries will be announced in coming months.
