Cubase VST Rocks With Rocket Networks
Online Studios
February 3, 2000
Steinberg today launched its own branded Internet
Recording Studios at www.cubase.net.
With this web-based development, each Rocket Powered Cubase VST becomes
an entrance to a virtual studio connecting musicians live over the internet.
Cubase with Rocket Power allows for multiple Cubase users to work together
and share projects using the internet as a live connection - all in the
familiar Cubase VST environment. Users can log on to a session at www.cubase.net
and invite others to join. All members of the session can work in real
- time together hearing the same work-in- progress, as it develops.
Musicians can post one of their own projects and ask for creative contributions,
or they can join a session and contribute to someone else's music. The
Internet Recording Studio is used to update each project as it develops
in real-time. All participants work on their own aspects of the same arrangement
with complete control over how and when their contributions will be heard,
because they can publish their changes whenever they like. As each of
the session players post their changes, all the participating studios
hear the new work.
Cubase VST with Rocket Power uses high quality MPEG audio file compression
for all the realtime transfers. In the highest quality mode, the compression
cant be detected. After the realtime session is over, the original
files can be transferred in their original Cubase VST format to each of
the session members.
Cubase VST with Rocket Power has applications for producers wanting
to coordinate sessions to include musicians working at a distance, educators
who need to bring together diverse groups of musicians, and all those
musicians who wish to collaborate in real time without having to rely
on being in a fixed location. It offers new possibilities for Cubase users
to seek out other musicians and work together in real time.
Rocket Network, Inc. (www.rocketnetwork.com)
is the first and only company to provide Internet Recording Studios where
audio professionals can meet online, collaborate and produce original
audio from anywhere in the world. The Companys revolutionary network
provides a cost-effective and convenient complement to traditional studios
by reducing production expenses and increasing creative alternatives for
professional-quality audio in TV, film, radio, music and Web sites.
