January 18, 1996

Opcode Systems, Inc. announced its MIDI Translator PC, on expandable MIDI interface for PC compatibles The new interface combines rock solid Opcode performance with a unique modular architecture that allows an unprecedented degree of expansion and flexibility

The exclusive "docking" port of the MIDI Translator PC allows multiple units to be chained together. A single MIDI Translator PC gives the user a 2 IN x 2 OUT, 32-channel MIDI interface that easily connects to the parallel port of a PC. Quickly expand this to a 4 IN x 4 OUT, 64 -channel interface by simply docking two units together.

The "docking" port of the MIDI Translator PC also acts as a printer passthru port. Controllable via software it allows a printer to remain connected and on-line at all times-no hassles with printer cable swapping.

"Price alone makes our 2 port interface an excellent value. But the MIDI Translator PC's printer passthru port, docking feature, and portability make it a breakthrough product among PC interfaces," says Mr. Rowe.

The MIDI Translator PC will be available in the 1st quarter 96.
