DUY To Release 5 Digidesign Plug-Ins

DUY, S.A. is a company involved in audiovisual production and research since 1986. DUY is
currently developing proprietary digital signal processing algorithms for audio applications. The main
areas of research are in the field of multidimensional sound for feature film and virtual reality
applications. Five of these innovative algorithms have been translated to the Digidesign(TM)
platform. All 5 DUY Plug-ins are currently available for Digidesign TDM Bus(TM) and Sound
Designer II(TM). DUY Plug-ins are suitable for the processing of any kind of sound: music, musical
instruments, voices or effects, and both individual tracks or final mixes. Typical applications include
music, film soundtracks, broadcast, audio postproduction and multimedia.
DaD Valve is a new revolutionary approach to the simulation of the classic valve sound for digital
audio systems. It gives you that real valve sound, featuring its classic warmth, within the digital
domain, and with characteristics and controllability impossible with conventional valve systems. It
simulates the most common valve types, with a full range of biasing and operating levels, and
optimized responses for the 38 most common families of acoustic and electronic musical
instruments. DaD Valve is based on a physical modelling proprietary system providing absolute and
independent control over both spectral and dynamic responses, with a total of 1600 different
configurations. DaD Valve is suitable for the processing of any kind of sound: music, effects and
voices, and both electronic or acoustic instruments.
DUY Shape is a revolutionary approach to sound enhancing based on the exclusive FDWS
algorithm. It features a three band smooth filter with full audio range continuous crossover points
and three independent user defined Shapers with virtually infinite resolution and accuracy. Each
Shaper has eight different curve types including linear, log and cosine functions, linear-expand
function to optimize dynamics, a set of 5 factory presets for typical applications and simultaneous
input and output plasma like meters. DUY Shape is suitable for dynamic enhancing, smooth
equalizing, waveshaping compression, frequency enhancing, sound "revitalizing" for old mixes, CD
mastering and broadcast
Digital Declicker automatically and seamlessly cleans pops and clicks from digital recordings
without leaving the digital domain. These spurious noises are often generated when copying
digitally or from mains transients. Operation is independent of content. Any track or mix can be
successfully processed.
DUY Wide is a stereo and multichannel spatial enhancer and widener of stereo image. It allows
sound placement outside physical stereo speaker locations without adding unwanted color to the
signal. It is suitable for remastering, rebalancing and spatial enhancing of stereo, Dolby Pro
Logic(TM), Dolby Stereo(TM) and Dolby Surround Multimedia(TM) mixes. Typical applications
include complex spatial processing of pairs of channels in AC-3, Dolby Digital(TM) and MPEG-2.

Max DUY is a revolutionary approach to sound level maximizing based on the exclusive ILO
algorithm. ILO (Intelligent Level Optimization) algorithm provides seamless level maximizing with
zero harmonic distortion even at low frequencies, unnecessary level scaling and limiting, thus
improving signal-to-noise ratio, release-free operation avoiding unwanted pumping effect and an
overall improvement in signal-to-noise ratio. It includes high resolution peak level meters with hold
and shift function. Max DUY is suitable for CD mastering and sound level optimization for music,
film soundtracks, broadcast and multimedia.
