PRESS RELEASE

Guild D30 Back in Production

January 16, 1997

After a three-year hiatus, Guild Guitars, a division of Fender Musical Instruments, is pleased to announce the triumphant return of its D30 acoustic dreadnought guitar. "Demand for the guitar has been overwhelming," said Bill Acton, Guild's marketing manager. "Guitarists have long revered the D30 for its value, craftsmanship, and outstanding projection and sustain. We thought it was the right time to resurrect the guitar and subsequently provide players with an exceptionally well-crafted instrument that not only feels comfortable and plays beautifully, but is affordable, too."

The D30 model features a solid sitka spruce top, rosewood bridge, figured maple sides and back, and a high-gloss nitro cellulose lacquer finish. "The brilliant response of the maple body to the vibration of the double-A spruce top creates a voice no other dreadnought can match," Acton added. "The combination of gorgeous woods and superb tonal character clearly puts the D30 in a class by itself."

The body of the guitar measures 20 inches long, 15 3/4 inches wide and a full five inches deep. It also features a maple neck and a twenty-fret rosewood fingerboard accentuated by mother-of-pearl dot inlays. For tuning ease, the D30 is equipped with elegant gold Grover Rotomatic machine heads. Available colors are Blonde, Black or Sunburst, and U.S. suggested retail price, including a hardshell case, is $1399.00.
