The Martin Guitar Company, one of the world's oldest and finest
instrument-makers, is proud to announce a wide variety of high quality Limited Edition Guitars.
OM-42PS PAUL SIMON
In a major and rare collaboration with Paul Simon, one of the most significant recording
artists of our time, a limited edition of 500 OM-42PS guitars will be available from Martin
dealers throughout the world. These signed and numbered guitars were designed to meet
Paul Simon's exacting requirements for tone, size and action.
000-45JR JIMMIE RODGERS
Jimmie Rodgers, the "Father of Country Music" who played a 000-45
custom-made Martin throughout his career, was born 100 years ago on September 8, 1897. To
commemorate this special anniversary, Martin is offering 100 limited edition Brazilian rosewood
replicas of the legendary "Blue Yodel" guitar for sale worldwide. The original, pre-war 000-45 models are very rare, often commanding prices in excess of $50,000 in the collectors' market. The
000-45JR is crafted with Martin's "Golden Era" vintage features.
00-40 and 00-45 "STAUFFER"
The Martin "Stauffer" Limited Edition 00-40 and 00-45 models pay
tribute to the 12-fret guitars made by C.F. Martin, Sr. during the early years of the company in the
1830s. These graceful guitars had an unusual headstock with all tuning keys on one side. Just
twenty-five 00-45 Brazilian and seventy-five 00-40 East Indian rosewood models will be made.
D-28KT, 0-18KT Tenor. Vega Banjo and D-28KT KINGSTON TRIO
The Kingston Trio, celebrating
their 40th anniversary, have shown unswerving loyalty to Martin instruments through the years. A
special Kingston Trio Limited Edition consisting of 40 sets of three instruments will be offered.
Each specially inlaid and signed set includes a Kingston Trio D-28KT guitar, a custom 0-18KT
Tenor guitar, and a Deering Vega long neck banjo. An extended edition of the Kingston Trio D-28KT
will be offered after all 40 Limited Edition sets have been ordered by Martin Dealers.
CEO-1 and CEO-lR CEO'S CHOICE
For the first time in the 164-year history of The Martin Guitar
Company, two special CEO's Choice Limited Edition guitars will be offered for sale for one year
only. The CEO-1 and CEO-lR were designed to meet demand for an affordable Martin that would
deliver optimum tone and reflect the tasteful and elegant ornamentation that makes the Martin
Guitar such a sought after and valued instrument.
00-16DB
To meet the needs of women, in particular, and all guitarists generally, the 00-16DB was
created by Martin's Women and Music Committee, a group of Martin employees (80%
women). Their goal was to design an instrument that would be comfortable to play and
still deliver spectacular sound. The result, the mahogany 00-16DB, with scalloped braces
and Dreadnought depth will be available only in 1997. For more information, visit their web site at www.mguitar.com. |
