Ubi Soft to Sell Maxi Sound Cards January 16, 1997
The latest
generation of sound cards from Guillemot International turn computers into home entertainment
systems and computer users into home recording artists. The two cards, the Maxi Sound Home
Theater 64 and the Maxi Sound Home Studio 64, provide the latest PC sound technology for
gainers, desktop musicians and music lovers.
Both the Maxi Sound Home Theater 64 and Maxi Sound Home Studio 64 provide high quality
sound, more features than any other PC sound card, programmable quadraphonics, 4-band
equalization and on-board real-time effects processing for the first time ever. "These are simply the most advanced quadraphonic sound cards on the market today," says Marcel Guillemot, president
of Guillemot International. "Besides offering all new 64 voice polyphony and the largest MIDI sound
table available today, both sound cards enable dynamic, programmable 4-channel surround sound,
and real-time multi-effects processing on voice-in, audio CD and line. In addition, Maxi Sound Home
Studio 64 is the first sound card that can play 8 .wav audio tracks at one time with real time
separate control and effects on each track."
Both Maxi Sound Home Theater 64 and Maxi Sound Home Studio 64 are completely upgradeable,
giving the technology more life and a greater value to the consumer. Users can expand polyphonic
capabilities to 96 voices with the addition of a 32-voice daughterboard and add fully standard RAM
SIMMS if desired.
Both sound boards come bundled with:
- Cakewalk Express, a MIDI sequencer for professional and
neophyte musical composers.
- Maxi FX, an effects generator for games and music.
- Intemet Phone,
user friendly software for Internet talk.
- Audio Works(TM), which uses a Hi-Fi control screen to manage
sound files, MIDI files and CD-ROMS.
- Maxi Font Editor, a sound bank editing program that lets you
create and download your own MIDI instruments
In addition, Maxi Sound 64 Home Studio includes state-of-the-art digital Input and Output (S/PDIF),
and Quartz Audio Master SE, a multi-track studio editing system with integrated audio and MIDI
sequencer. Quartz Audio Master SE includes a real time digital audio editing table with eight stereo
audio tracks, 64 MIDI tracks, track-by-track editing and adjustment of MIDI and wave sounds, real
time effects and multitrack mixing table and full SMPTE synchronization capabilities, among other
features.
Both sound cards are full duplex, fully plug-and-play for Windows 95 and are 100% compatible with
General MIDI, General Standard, Sound Blaster(TM) and MPU-401. Speakers and surround sound
outputs are provided in addition to MIDI interface and a game port.
