Metric Halo Hops on the TDM Bus

SpectraFoo technology is now available as a TDM plug-in for ProTools and ProTools24. The system features state-of-the-art audio analysis and metering tools that are completely synchronized with the program material being monitored. "SpectraFooTDM brings a whole new dimension of functionality to the ProTools environment," says Joe Buchalter, President of Metric Halo Laboratories.
SpectraFooTDM provides multi-channel, high-resolution, high-speed spectral, phase and level metering which seamlessly integrates with ProTools. It is also the first plug-in that is accessible to the user while the controls of another plug-in are being operated. According to B.J. Buchalter, Metric Halo's Chief Scientist, "It seemed pointless to create a high-resolution analysis and metering tool that disappears every time you need to change the parameters of eq, compression or any other DSP process, so we created a persistent window system that allows SpectraFoo meters to remain active even when the controls of another plug-in are being manipulated."
SpectraFooTDM uses only one DSP and allows professional monitoring of up to 22 channels simultaneously (depending on hardware configuration), providing as much or as little analysis as is needed. The unique persistent window design monitors changes made by other plug-ins, enabling the engineer to easily identify problems such as frequency overlap, masking effects, and sibilance. High-resolution phase analysis can also be used with groups of tracks or an entire mix at the engineer's discretion. SpectraFooTDM is an invaluable aid in the quest to put each element of a mix in its 'proper place'.
