The DP-8 addresses the increasingly complex interfaces between digital audio recording, editing and mixing systems by providing users with a very user-friendly, cost-effective digital patchbay.
The Fostex DP-8 offers six optical I/Os, which can accommodate Alesis ADAT(R) and related systems, such as the Fostex D-80, D-90 and D-160, and any S/P DIF formatted system. There are also two coaxial I/Os (S/P DIF). Using a rotary control for each input, users can route digital signals freely and easily and with a high degree of signal integrity. Inside the Fostex DP-8, each input signal is wave-reshaped at a sampling frequency up to 48 kHz output to each channel. Thus, any S/P DIF signal can be converted from optical to coaxial or from coaxial to optical. For fast, temporary patches, the DP-8 is also fitted with a convenient front-panel optical I/O.
