Strengthens Plug-In Line with Release of Fusion:FILTER and VINYL

Opcode Systems, the Palo Alto, California-based manufacturer of industry leading
music software and hardware, announces two new exciting additions to their fusion:
series of cross-platform plug-in effects at the Winter '98 NAMM show. Fusion:FILTER
and fusion:VINYL are two new plug-ins which offer users creative sound processing
capabilities never before available in computer music production. In addition,Opcode
will be offering TDM versions of fusion:FILTER and VOCODE while also offering
VST compatible versions of the entire fusion:EFFECTS line.
fusion:FILTER
Opcode's newest plug-in fusion:Filter provides a fat-sounding multi-mode,
analog-style filter with resonance control for producing a wide range of exciting
new sounds not currently available with any other plug-in. Fusion:FILTER features
an intuitive user interface which allows for quick and easy access to today's
hottest sounds, from analog-style lowpass sweeps to envelope-followed filter boosts-all
completely under user control. Up to 6 programmable modulation sources can be
active at once. Included are LFOs with multiple waveforms, envelope followers
and a multi-step modulation sequencer. These additions give fusion:FILTER expressive
capabilities far beyond any other hardware or software filter device available
today. For those who are looking for new sources of inspiration while taking advantage
of the tools they already own, FILTER will add new life to synthesizers and samplers
which lack strong filter capabilities. Any audio file can act as a source for
fusion:FILTER. This plug-in adds spice to everything from basslines and vocals

fusion:VINYL
Fusion:VINYL
applies the classic sound of worn-out vinyl records to any digital audio file
in seconds. This plug-in ends the search for classic loops forever; with fusion:Vinyl
you create your own. Any digital audio file can now become that vintage recording
custom-tailored to your specifications. Fusion:VINYL's edit window is where it
all begins. Parameters including dirt, hiss, scratches and static are all easily
accessible. Thanks to automatic previews, any change in settings becomes instantly
audible. These instant updates allow users to focus on the job at hand instead
of playing hit and miss. Full control is also provided over pops, warp, RPM (33
1/3, 45 & 78) and more.
fusion:VOCODE Opcode has succeeded
in bringing sought-after classic vocoder effects to the desktop studio. Fusion:VOCODE
produces a wide range of unique-sounding effects including classic talk boxes,
robot vocals, singing strings and more. User controls include:choice of modulator,
custom carrier with emphasis and depth control, five-band graphic EQ and more.
Also present is a special Lo-Fi mode for adding grit and punch to achieve that
"organic" sound. Extreme ease of use combined with professional power has always
been a hallmark of all Opcode products and VOCODE is no different. Intuitive design
and an easy-to-use interface make it a perfect fit for industry professionals
