TC Works Announces Native EQ Works, The EQ Solution for DirectX January 29, 1998
TC WORKS, TC Electronic's new
signal processing Plug-In company, is pleased to announce TC NATIVE EQ
WORKS with SoftSat(tm) - the latest in a full line of TC-quality Plug-Ins
available for host-based DSP equalization supporting DirectX and Cubase VST
on Windows 95/NT PCs, according to Ralf Schluenzen, Managing Director of TC
Works.
The TC NATIVE EQ WORKS package includes two Plug-Ins - TC NATIVE EQ-P, and
TC NATIVE EQ-G. NATIVE EQ WORKS supplies all the equalization tools
necessary for audio production or mastering on a DirectX compatible or
Cubase VST PC digital audio recording system.
TC NATIVE EQ-P is a powerful 10 Band EQ Plug-In offering much more than
what is found in a traditional parametric EQ. NATIVE EQ-P features 7 fully
configurable bands and 3 additional bands, which are controlled by a unique
joystick and are preset for fast Treble and Loudness control. The 7 bands
can be assigned to work as Parametric, Hi Shelf, Lo Shelf or Notch filters,
or any combination of these - supplying all the necessary equalization
tools needed for audio production, sound design and sweetening. On stereo
files, EQ-P provides split gain controls for left and right instant access
for working on channels discreetly, or moving the
frequency spectrum around in the stereo image.
TC NATIVE EQ-G is a 28 band graphic equalizer with a unique graphic
interface for intuitive access to the band gain controls - simply draw the
desired frequency response onto the display with the mouse, and the EQ is
set.
In order to make EQ-G as "performance-friendly" as possible, the user can
operate EQ-G with a full 28 or alternatively 14 or 7 bands. The bands can
be grouped for even easier settings.
"Good equalization facilities are key for any audio production, but digital
EQ is known for a somewhat cold sound, therefore many engineers still
prefer analog equalizers to adjust their sound", comments Schluenzen. "TC
has addressed this issue by developing extremely sophisticated digital
filters and SoftSat(tm), a proprietary algorithm which generates that warm
sound associated with tube equipment. SoftSat is a key ingredient in all
TC WORKS EQ Plug-Ins and ensures delivering TC quality sound."
The NATIVE EQ-G provides up to 56 bands of high quality EQ in real-time (28
stereo), and NATIVE EQ-P with up to 20 bands (10 Stereo), while still
allowing the computer to run other processes at the same time (on PCs with
200 MHz and up) - even several simultaneous TC NATIVE EQ-Ps.
System Requirements
- EQ-P: Pentium 133 (200 or faster recommended for use in Cubase VST)
- EQ-G: Pentium 200 (less, when not using all bands)
- 32 MB of RAM (64 recommended)
- Windows 95/NT 4.x
- Host software compatible to the DirectX standard from Microsoft (e.g.
Cakewalk, WaveLab, SoundForge,...) or Cubase VST
TC NATIVE EQ WORKS will be available from TC WORKS and its distribution
partners March 1998. US Retail price - $449. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.tcworks.de/. |
