Akai Debuts New Line Of Powered Mixers

AMX6
AMX10

January 28, 1999

Akai, a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of innovative audio products, introduced a new line of powered mixers at the January NAMM show.

The Akai AMX6 and AMX10 set a new standard in powered mixer technology offering a revolutionary design and a wide range of features -- at an unprecedented price point.

Both powered mixers feature Class D amplifier technology, combining high power handling in a lightweight, compact format. Ideal for portable sound reinforcement, public address systems and nightclub and church installations, the new powered mixers combine high quality amplification, signal processing and mixing capabilities into an easy to carry unit weighing less than 17 pounds.

Regardless of the application -- from coffeehouses to home recording studios, the Akai AMX6 and AMX10 can be set up in minutes and provide excellent audio quality. With output power at 200 watts X 2 into 4 ohms, they also deliver the power to fill nearly any size venue with clean, full-bandwidth sound.

The AMX6 is a dual mono powered mixer featuring six electronically balanced Mic/Line inputs, with 3-band channel EQ. The dual amplifiers can be configured for three separate modes of operation (Main + Main, Main + Monitor, Bridged) and each amplifier channel is equipped with a 7-band graphic EQ.

The AMX10 is a stereo powered mixer with six electronically balanced Mic/Line inputs and four balanced/unbalanced Line inputs. A user-selectable amplifier mode switch allows Stereo, Main + Monitor, or Bridged output and a 7-band graphic equalizer is available for each amplifier channel.

Both units are housed in high-impact molded flight cases with integral locking covers and side handles for lightweight, durable transportation. Back connection panels are recessed. Graphic display includes AC Power LED indicator, 5-point signal level LED indicator and Phantom Power LED indicator.

The Akai Powered Mixers will be available in January, 1999. The AMX6 carries a suggested retail price of $759.00 and the AMX10's suggested retail price is $906.00
