EV Debut's MS3000 Diversity Wireless
Microphone SystemNew UHF System Offers Electro-Voice
Technology and Reliability for the Live Sound Market January 28, 1999The new Electro-Voice MS3000 Wireless Microphone System debuted at the
NAMM Convention, held from January 28 to 31 at the Los Angeles Convention
Center. The MS3000 system offers advanced EV technology and reliability,
targeting the live sound market.
"Demand for top-end, high-quality wireless systems keeps rising
every year and the MS3000 from Electro-Voice is designed to meet this
demand," says Mike Torlone, director of marketing music products
for Electro-Voice. "The MS3000 is for the discerning professional
who demands uncompromising perforinance and excellent value."
The MS3000 system features EV's exclusive DXN companding circuitry
combined with the finest audio circuitry to deliver performance comparable
to a hard wired system. Delivering a signal-to-noise ratio of 104 dB,
the MS3000 operates in the UHF frequency range of 690 to 720 MHz (TV channels
50-55) on single custom-tuned frequencies and employs EV's patented Secure-Phase
diversity technology for optimum signal reception and range.
The MS3000 System combines the MR3000 receiver with a choice of handheld
and bodypack transmitters that offers a wide range of microphone choices,
including the Electro-Voice N/D767 N/DYM® dynamic and the BK-1 condenser.
Because successful wireless systems depend on high-quality and reliable
antennas, the MS3000 offers specially tuned quarter-wave antennas with
superior TNC-type connectors. Optional rack mount kits for both the receiver
and the antennas are included, along with multicouplers, 1/2-wave antennas
and log periodic directional antenna options to meet specific installation
and use requirements.
The all-metal receiver enclosure features a five-segment LED audio level
meter, a five-segment LED output level meter, two LEDs to indicate the
action of the diversity circuitry and a rear-panel squelch adjustment
control. Audio output interface is accomplished through a balanced 3-pin
XLR-type and an unbalanced 1/4-inch connector.
"With the MS3000, we have delivered a premium performance product
with sterling sound quality at an affordable price," states Torlone.
"We expect the MS3000 to have enthusiastic market acceptance and
success."
