The Fender® FV-1 Violin is Back

different sounds, Fender Musical Instruments® has re-created the Fender FV-1
Violin. Originally introduced in the late '50's, the all new Fender FV-1 is
a unique instrument that has all the tone, playability and features that musicians
have come to expect from Fender.
Unlike its predecessors, which were hampered by the technology of the time,
this beautiful, full sized electric violin features a chambered body, set maple
neck, solid spruce top with maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard, tuners
and special design piezo electric bridge with volume and tone controls. The
FV-1 violin comes as a complete outfit, which includes hard shell case, bow,
snap-in neck rest, and rosin. This new addition to the Fender acoustic-electric
line is finished in unique gloss polar-white.
Fender marketing manager Ed Rizzuto adds, "Over the last few years we have
branched out from guitars into mandolins, banjos and other non-guitar instruments.
With clean, original vintage examples fetching upwards of $1,500.00, it seemed
the time was right to bring the violin back. I believe we have captured the
spirit of the original in a functional, pure-sounding instrument." Once thought
to be a memory of the past, the Fender violin is back and it's better than ever.
