Ibanez Goes Heavy on High End Basses

January 28, 1999Ibanez unveiled four new bass lines, the high-end BTB line and three signature
bass models co-designed by Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire, Gary Willis,
and Doug Wimbish. "We've got a lot of high end pro basses at this show,"
commented Masashi Inoue of the Ibanez USA Electric Guitar Division. The BTB
models offer all the features of the boutique basses without the boutique prices.
Our first signature bass instruments were worth the long development time. Doug,
Gary and Verdine all put in a lot of work with us instruments. We're sure players
and retailers are going to be ecstatic with the results."
To celebrate their new signature basses, Wimbish, White and Willis performed
at the Hyatt Saturday Night as concert cosponsored by Ibanez and Bass Player
