TC Electronic Flagship Goes 24/96 January 28, 1999 TC Electronic is showing ADA 24/96, a new 24 bit 96kHz ADA
I/O card for their popular high end professional studio signal processor the
M5000. Widely regarded as a leader in technology, the TC Electronic M5000 digital
audio processing mainframe now continues to the next level in professional audio.
One of the clear advantages the M5000 has always offered customers is modular
flexibility and continuing support and development from the research and development
teams at TC.
The new high end ADA 24/96 converters always run at double sample rate (64/88.2/96)
together with and extremely powerful 100 MHz DSP processor that serves a single
function of running up and down sampling filtering. It is possible to select
between a number of different filter types, designed for different applications
and tastes in audio.
Source optimized filtering provides hi order down sampling after the A to D
and hi order up sampling preceding the D to A to be applied. Different slopes,
impulse and phase responses are available, giving you unheard naturalness in
the conversion process. Analog filter behavior without pre-echo is just one
of the possibilities.
Soft clip is one of the famous functions of the M5000 MD2 dynamics package.
An even better version is now available in the 96K domain for ADA 24/96 card
owners. Aliasing products from soft clipping are suppressed by using this function
in the hi sample rate domain.
Other important features include very high level handling capability with analog
pre and post scaling. Also included are 6 relays with gold plated contacts to
control levels, by-pass, and balancing configurations. The ADA 24/96 dynamic
range at input is >113 dB unweighted. For more information, visit TC Electronic at http://www.tcelectronic.com/ |
